Rising Currents: Women of New Orleans Celebrating Culture & Song

Rising Currents is a group of women artists who came together to create a body of original works inspired by their collective backgrounds, cultural heritage, and how they all connect to Musicians’ Village and the city of New Orleans. Members include Queen Mother Sula Janet Evans, Helen Gillet, Tanya Huang, Margie Perez, Amina Scott, and Boyanna Trayanova.
Concerts for All: Special discounted tickets are available for senior citizens and New Orleans residents receiving SNAP benefits. A valid benefits card and photo ID required to purchase discounted tickets for $3.00 per person. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets can be purchased online but must be redeemed at the door by showing valid ID.
Guests are welcome to take photos and short video clips for personal enjoyment. When sharing on social media, we appreciate if you could tag both the Center and the artist. Please be aware that the Center retains the right to restrict photography and videography upon the request of artists or performers. Commercial photography and videography are strictly prohibited, and the use of flash is not allowed. Thank you for your cooperation.
